Rachel Medlin, 25, ID’d as Suspect in Yuba City DUI Hit-and-Run Crash
YUBA CITY, CA (February 23, 2022) – Authorities detained Rachel Medlin after a DUI hit-and-run crash in Yuba City.
Police determined that 25-year-old Grass Valley woman was under the influence of drugs when the collision took place on Tuesday night.
The incident began when Rachel Medlin was driving in the area of Bridge and Plumas streets in Yuba City. Police said she then struck a pedestrian in the intersection.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the crash site and found the victim hurt. The patient sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Crash
Medical personnel rushed the person to the Adventist Health and Rideout hospital for treatment. The reports did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that Rachel Medlin did not stop to help and fled the scene. The Sacramento Bee and CBS Sacramento wrote that the accident occurred on February 22 at about 10:50 p.m.
Officers located her in the 3000 block of Walton Avenue. They arrested Rachel Medlin on suspicion of hit-and-run causing injury, DUI causing injury and driving without a valid license.
Police soon booked the suspect into the Sutter County Jail. The Yuba City DUI hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
