Ralph Guerrero, 30, Arrested For DUI After Merced Car Crash
MERCED, CA (May 13, 2023) – Authorities detained Ralph Guerrero after a DUI crash near G Street and 23rd Street in Merced.
Police determined that the 30-year-old man was under the influence of alcohol when the wreck took place on Wednesday.
The incident began when Ralph Guerrero, of Merced, was driving a 2009 Nissan Altima north on G Street near 23rd Street. He was traveling over the posted speed limit at the time.
Police said he then struck a 2023 Jeep near the intersection. The Merced Sun Star wrote that the impact of the collision pushed the Jeep into a 2018 Subaru.
Woman, 29, Badly Injured in Wreck
The Jeep rolled over as a result of the accident which occurred on May 10 shortly after 9 p.m. The driver of the overturned car, a 29-year-old Merced woman, sustained moderate injuries following the wreck.
Paramedics arrived and rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded victim and her condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police soon arrested Ralph Guerrero on suspicion of felony DUI causing bodily injury following the crash.
Officers booked him into the Merced County Jail for DUI of at least .08 blood-alcohol level causing bodily injury, transportation of narcotics and misdemeanor possession of a narcotic controlled substance.
