1 Injured in Rancho Cordova Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 50 Near Zinfandel
RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (September 14, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash injured at least one person on Highway 50 near Zinfandel Drive in Rancho Cordova.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 3:50 p.m.
CHP said two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Rancho Cordova. They crashed on the westbound side of Highway 50, just east of Zinfandel Drive.
2 Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found one person who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then provided aid to the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the incident. The name of the wounded victim and their condition at this time were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that one of the drivers involved did not stop to render aid and fled the area. Officers forced the westbound lanes of Highway 50 near Zinfandel to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the Rancho Cordova hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
