1 Killed in Rancho San Diego Crash on State Route 94 Near Via Mercado
RANCHO SAN DIEGO, CA (September 24, 2022) – A crash killed at least one person on State Route 94 near Via Mercado in Rancho San Diego.
According to an article published by The San Diego Union-Tribune, the tragic accident took place on Friday evening. Officers reported the wreck about 6:10 p.m.
The incident happened on September 23 when a motorcycle rider and another vehicle collided for an unknown reason in Rancho San Diego.
Motorcycle and Vehicle Collide
The California Highway Patrol said the two crashed on westbound State Route 94 near Via Mercado. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Medical personnel pronounced one individual dead as a result of the collision. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the westbound lanes of State Route 94 to shut down near Via Mercado for a time following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Rancho San Diego crash is still under investigation.
