Rebecca Bryant, 46, Arrested After Tehama County Fatal Crash on State Route 99E
TEHAMA COUNTY, CA (May 16, 2022) – Officers detained Rebecca Bryant after a fatal crash on State Route 99E in Tehama County.
The California Highway Patrol said the 46-year-old Cottonwood woman left the collision which killed one person and seriously injured two others on Friday.
The incident happened when Rebecca Bryant was driving a 2015 Toyota Corolla north on State Route 99E in Tehama County. For an unknown reason, she swerved into the southbound lane.
CHP reported that the driver of a 1999 Chevrolet Malibu, Allejandro Arrellano, headed south at the time saw the car and took evasive action.

In the process, the 49-year-old Gridley man hit a northbound 2002 Cadillac Eldorado head-on at Singer Creek. The Cadillac then came to a stop in an embankment.
Allejandro Arrellano and the 49-year-old motorist in the Eldorado, Chico resident Felton Price III, sustained significant injuries. Paramedics rushed them to the hospital for further aid.
A passenger in the Malibu, a 52-year-old man, died in the wreck. The Red Bluff Daily News and KRCRTV News wrote that the collision took place on May 13 at around 2:55 p.m.
Meanwhile, CHP found Rebecca Bryant and arrested her following the crash. They soon charged her with vehicular manslaughter and booked her into the Tehama County Jail.
The cause of the Tehama County crash is still under investigation.
