Major Injury Collision at San Mateo Bridge Sunday
Redwood City, CA (April 3, 2022) – At least one person died following a traffic accident that occurred on State Route 92 at the San Mateo Bridge.
Auto vs. Motorcycle Accident on State Route 92 in Redwood City
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, a man riding a BMW motorcycle collided with another vehicle on the highway in San Francisco Bay. Officials described the car involved in the wreck as a white Lexus sedan.
The CHP logged the incident Sunday around 5:19 p.m.
When emergency crews arrived at the site, they found the rider ejected onto the right-hand shoulder of the highway. Responding paramedics rendered aid to the victim. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed the motorcyclist sustained major trauma as a result of the wreck. An ambulance rushed the patient to the hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
No immediate information was available on the driver of the Lexus.
Several factors surrounding the incident remained unclear. At this time, investigators continue to work to determine exactly how and why the crash happened on State Route 92 in Redwood City.
