Bicyclist Killed in Reedley Hit-and-Run Near Alta and Manning Avenues
REEDLEY, CA (January 3, 2022) – A bicyclist was killed after a hit-and-run crash near Alta and Manning avenues in Reedley.

According to the FOX 26 News and Your Central Valley, the tragic accident took place on Monday evening. Officers reported the collision at around 7:00 p.m.
The incident happened when a 69-year-old man was riding a bicycle on the right shoulder of the Reedley road to stay out of the way of traffic.
For an unknown reason, a truck veered onto the shoulder and struck the back tire of the bike. The California Highway Patrol said the rider ended up thrown off onto the road upon impact.
Driver Hits Man, Flees Scene
The vehicle hit him near the intersection of Alta and Manning avenues. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found the victim lying next to his bicycle on the ground.
Medical personnel soon pronounced him dead at the scene. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver did not stop to render aid to the cyclist and fled the area. They described the truck with possible minor damage to the front right grill.
Officers forced the corner of Alta and Manning avenues to shut down following the collision. The fatal Reedley hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
