Double Fatal Big Rig Collision on Interstate 5
Bakersfield, CA (July 12, 2022) – Ricardo Gomez Perez, and Manuel Velasquez Garcia both died following a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate 5 Freeway.
Bakersfield Now published an article online reporting two big rigs collided head-on in the southbound side of the freeway near Twisselman Road. Per local news source, the horrible crash involved a Flatbed Truck and a Box Truck.
Shortly after 3:30 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. First responders found both trucks with major front-end damage.
Deadly Truck Accident in Bakersfield
Medical personnel rendered aid to all parties involved in the collision. After the evaluation, authorities sadly confirmed two people died in the accident. The Kern County Coroner identified the fatal victims as 54-year-old Ricardo Gomez Perez of Healdsburg, California; and 44-year-old Manuel Velasquez Garcia of Montclair, California.
Several factors surrounding the incident remained unclear. At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise circumstances that led up to the deadly crash on Interstate 5 in Bakersfield.
