Richard Alvarez, 69, Injured in Jamestown Hit-and-Run on Chicken Ranch Road
JAMESTOWN, CA (March 31, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash with drugs injured Richard Alvarez along Chicken Ranch Road in Jamestown.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 69-year-old Modesto man as the victim of the wreck which occurred on Monday afternoon.
The incident happened on March 29 when Richard Alvarez was a passenger in a 2001 Mercedes sedan. The car was driven by 60-year-old Floyd Johnson Jr., of Modesto.
At the same time, a 2005 Mercedes sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed on Chicken Ranch Road, off Highway 108, in Jamestown.
CHP said the speeding vehicle then went off the road and up the embankment. The 2005 Mercedes rolled over on top of the other sedan.
2 Men Arrested For Hit-and-Run, DUI Separately
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene near the Chicken Ranch Casino. They treated Richard Alvarez for the minor injuries he sustained as a result of the collision.
The Ceres Courier and My Mother Lode reported the accident at around 3:50 p.m. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the two men and a teenage girl riding the 2005 Mercedes fled on foot following the crash.
Officers found them and arrested the male driver for felony hit-and-run and a male passenger for delaying the duties of a peace officer.
Authorities soon found a baggy of a white crystal substance, believed to be Methamphetamine, in one of the shoes of the male passenger. They charged him with bringing a controlled substance into jail.
The Jamestown hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
