Pedestrian Richard Mendez, 29, Killed in Arleta Crash on Terra Bella Street
ARLETA, CA (December 11, 2022) – Richard Mendez was killed after a pedestrian crash on Terra Bella Street in Arleta.
Police identified the 29-year-old Arleta man as the victim of the fatal accident which took place on Wednesday.
The incident happened when Richard Mendez was crossing Terra Bella Street in Arleta. At the same time, a Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed.
Speeding Driver Hits Man
Police said in the process, the car struck him. The CBS Los Angeles and My News LA wrote that the collision occurred on December 7 at around 10:20 p.m.
Richard Mendez sustained serious injuries as a result of the pedestrian accident. Paramedics arrived and soon pronounced him dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, officers affirmed that the speeding driver did not stop to render aid and fled the area. Police forced a stretch of Terra Bella Street to shut down for a time following the incident.
