Riley Gault, 34, Seriously Hurt in Solo-Vehicle Collision on Golden Center Freeway Monday
Nevada City, CA (April 20, 2021) – Two people, including Riley Gault, suffered injuries following a car accident on Golden Center Freeway on April 19, Monday.
The KNCO News reported 34-year-old Riley Gault was a passenger in a vehicle driving by 52-year-old Mark Steffan. Officials said the two men were traveling south on the Nevada City highway.
In the area just south of Gold Flat Road, the vehicle with two occupants crashed for an unknown reason. The make and model of the vehicle involved in the wreck remained unknown.

When emergency teams arrived at the site, the found Riley Gault trapped in the wreck. Our sources indicated firefighters worked for about 45 minutes to extricate the victim from the crumpled car. After rescue teams successfully freed the passenger, they transferred him to Sutter Roseville Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.
Authorities added Mark Steffan sustained only minor injuries in the collision.
At this time, detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate exactly how and why the car accident in Nevada City happened.
