4 Injured in Crash on River Road Near Rio Vista Bridge
RIO VISTA, CA (November 18, 2022) – A crash killed one person and injured several others on River Road near a bridge in Rio Vista.
According to The Reporter and FOX 40 News, the tragic accident took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at around 3:10 p.m.
Witnesses said the incident began when a sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed on River Road in Rio Vista. Police said the car then slammed head-on into a minivan.
Miguel Molina, 32, Killed in Wreck
The two cars crashed in front of 240 River Road, north of the Rio Vista Bridge. The driver of the sedan, 32-year-old Rio Vista resident Miguel Molina, died at the scene of the collision.
His passenger, a 13-year-old boy, and the three occupants of the van ended up hurt as a result of the accident. CHP described the other patients as a woman and her two children, ages 3 and 3 months old.
Paramedics soon rushed all four victims to hospitals for treatment of unspecified injuries. The names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time were not released.
Meanwhile, officers forced a stretch of River Road to shut down for a time following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Rio Vista crash is still under investigation.
