Hit-and-Run DUI Driver in Temecula Crash ID’d as Rolando Neil Dominguez, 49
TEMECULA, CA (May 3, 2021) – Authorities detained Rolando Dominguez after a DUI hit-and-run crash on the Interstate 15 in Temecula.
The California Highway Patrol determined that the 49-year-old Escondido man was under the influence when the accident occurred on Sunday.
The incident happened when Rolando Neil Dominguez was driving a 2016 Dodge Dart north on the Interstate 15 in Temecula.
CHP said he then struck a 2014 Dodge Impala. A Nissan Altima, a Ford F-150 pickup truck and a Jeep Cherokee became involved in the wreck.
The Impala and the Dart caught fire as a result of the collision. My News LA and Patch reported that the collision took place on May 2 at about 5:15 p.m.
Margie Urrieta and Man, Both 57, Victims in I-15 Crash
Firefighters responded to the scene, just south of Temecula Parkway. They found and attended to the female passenger of the Impala who sustained major injuries following the crash.
Paramedics rushed her to the Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar and listed her in stable but critical condition. CHP identified her as 57-year-old Margie Urrieta, of Indio.
Medical personnel took the driver of the Impala, a 57-year-old Indio man, for treatment of minor injuries. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that Rolando Dominguez left his car on the freeway and fled on foot.
Officers soon located and arrested him on suspicion of felony DUI resulting in great bodily injury and hit-and-run. They booked him into the Southwest Detention Center in lieu of a $75,000 bail.
The Temecula DUI hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
