Vehicle Strikes, Kills Ronald Bryan Brown on Highway 99 Friday
Modesto, CA (April 19, 2021) – Ronald Bryan Brown suffered fatal injuries following a pedestrian accident on Highway 99 on April 16, Friday, the Modesto Bee reported.
According to the news article published online, the 47-year-old transient man was standing in the center median of the freeway Friday night. Ronald Brown apparently attempted to cross the highway when he entered the southbound traffic lanes.
Officials said an oncoming bronze Hyundai Accent accidentally struck the pedestrian. Preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling at about 70 to 75 mph when the collision happened.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Modesto, April 16
Shortly after the incident, emergency teams arrived at the crash site, near 9th Street, and found Ronald Brown unconscious. Paramedics performed life-saving measures to the transient man but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
Meanwhile, authorities mentioned the driver and passenger of the Hyundai both appeared unharmed after the incident.
Further investigation on the unfortunate event is ongoing.
