Ronnie Henley, 55, Killed in Tuolumne County Crash on Highway 108

TUOLUMNE COUNTY, CA (January 10, 2022) – A fatal crash seriously injured Ronnie Henley on Highway 108 in Tuolumne County.

The California Highway Patrol identified the 55-year-old Waterford man as the victim of the wreck which took place on Saturday.

The incident began when Ronnie Henley was driving a 1999 Ford pickup east on Highway 108 in Tuolumne County. At the same time, a 2013 Hyundai sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed west.

CHP said the Hyundai tried to pass a 2007 Subaru SUV and then crossed over double yellow lines. In the process, the sedan went directly into the path of the truck.

Speeding Driver, 36, Killed in Wreck

The Ford slammed head-on into the Ford, west of La Grange Road. The Union Democrat and The Modesto Bee wrote that the accident occurred on January 8 at about 5:30 p.m.

Ronnie Henley sustained serious injuries as a result of the Highway 108 crash. Paramedics arrived and rushed him to the Doctors Medical Center in Modesto for treatment.

The speeding driver, a 36-year-old Modesto man, died following the wreck. CHP added that debris from the Hyundai struck the Subaru.

Its motorist, 53-year-old Pleasanton resident Chunli Yao, ended up unharmed. The Tuolumne County crash between Knights Ferry and Jamestown is still under investigation.
