Ruby Edwards, 57; and Anthony Rollins, 64; Killed in Berkeley Car Crash
BERKELEY, CA (May 13, 2021) – A car crash on Marin Avenue killed Ruby Edwards and Anthony Rollins in Berkeley.
The Daily Californian and East Bay Times wrote that the fatal accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on May 11 at about 1:39 p.m.
The incident began when 64-year-old Anthony Keith Rollins was driving a Toyota in Berkeley with 57-year-old Ruby Jean Edwards as his passenger.
The California Highway Patrol said for an unknown reason, their car collided with the rear of an Audi SUV. The two crashed in the 2200 block of Marin Avenue between Spruce Street and San Benito Road.
Woman, 43, Badly Injured in Collision on Marin Avenue
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and pronounced Ruby Edwards dead at the scene. They then rushed Anthony Rollins to a hospital, where he died.
CHP affirmed that the 43-year-old Kensington woman driving the Audi sustained moderate injuries as a result of the collision. Her 3-year-old daughter with her at the time ended up with no visible injuries.
Medical personnel also took them for treatment and evaluation. Meanwhile, the impact left a power pole knocked down and damaged nearby.
