Bicycle Rider Seriously Injured in Sacramento Crash on Sky Parkway
SACRAMENTO, CA (February 8, 2022) – A bicycle rider was seriously injured after a crash on Sky Parkway in Sacramento.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place on Tuesday evening. According to their dispatch, officers reported the collision shortly before 7 p.m.
The incident happened when a vehicle struck the bicycle rider for an unknown reason. The driver hit the bicyclist at 5055 Sky Parkway in Sacramento.
Bicyclist Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Sky Park Apartments. They found the victim who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the UC Davis Medical Center for treatment of possible broken arm. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded cyclist and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the motorist stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the rider. Officers forced a stretch of Sky Parkway to shut down following the incident.
The cause of the Sacramento bicycle crash is still under investigation.
