2 Killed, 2 Injured in Sacramento County Crash on State Route 160 Near 3 Mile Slough
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA (December 29, 2021) – A crash killed two people and injured two others on State Route 160 near 3 Mile Slough in Sacramento County.
According to an article published by the KCRA News, the tragic accident took place on Wednesday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 9:01 a.m.
The incident happened when a Nissan crossed over double-yellow lines and side-swiped a Toyota traveling in the opposite direction.
The two crashed on State Route 160, south of 3 Mile Slough, in Sacramento County. The California Highway Patrol said the Toyota spun out of control in the process.
Multiple Cars Collide
A GMC approached and then collided with the passenger side of the Nissan. The driver of the Nissan and his passenger, a 48-year-old Pittsburg woman, died as a result of the collision.
The 38-year-old Elk Grove woman driving the Toyota and the motorist in the GMC, a 44-year-old Winters man, survived with minor injuries. Paramedics took them to a hospital for treatment.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, CHP forced a stretch of State Route 160 to shut down near 3 Mile Slough following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Sacramento County crash is still under investigation.
