Man Killed in Sacramento Hit-and-Run Near La Mancha Way and Elder Court

SACRAMENTO, CA (August 21, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian near La Mancha Way and Elder Court in Sacramento.

According to The Sacramento Bee and FOX 40 News, the tragic accident took place early Saturday. Officers reported the collision shortly after midnight.

The incident happened on August 20 when a vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason in south Sacramento. Police said the driver hit him near the intersection of La Mancha Way and Elder Court.

Driver Hits Pedestrian, Flees Scene

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then found the man left lying on the ground. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel then rushed the victim to a hospital, where he soon died. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the man and fled the area.  Officers forced the corner of La Mancha and Elder to shut down for a time following the incident.
