Pedestrian Killed in Sacramento Hit-and-Run Crash on Garden Highway
SACRAMENTO, CA (January 5, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian on Garden Highway in Sacramento.
According to The Sacramento Bee and ABC 10 News, the tragic accident took place late Tuesday night. Officers reported the collision at around 10:45 p.m.
The incident happened on January 4 when a vehicle stuck a female pedestrian for an unknown reason in Sacramento. The driver hit her in the 1000 block of Garden Highway.
Driver Hits Woman, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then found the woman left lying on the ground. She sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Her name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the woman and fled the area. Officers forced a stretch of Garden Highway to shut down for several hours following the collision.
