Pedestrian Injured in Sacramento Hit-and-Run Crash on 49th Avenue
SACRAMENTO, CA (May 6, 2021) – A pedestrian was injured after a hit-and-run crash on 49th Avenue in Sacramento.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the incident on Tuesday evening. According to their dispatch, officers reported the accident on May 4 at about 7:11 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver hit the victim at 4120 49th Avenue near 42nd Street in Sacramento.
Victim Hit by Vehicle Near Bowling Green Park
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene near the Bowling Green Park. They soon found and attended to the person who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then provided treatment to the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained. Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid and fled the area. Officers forced the roadway to close for a time following the crash.
Authorities are still searching for the suspect. The cause of the Sacramento hit-and-run collision is still under investigation.
