Pedestrian Injured in Sacramento Hit-and-Run Near Martin Luther and 47th Avenue
SACRAMENTO, CA (January 12, 2022) – A pedestrian was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash at Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard and 47th Avenue in Sacramento.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Wednesday evening. Officers reported the incident at about 6:19 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in Sacramento. The driver hit the person near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard and 47th Avenue.
Driver Hits Victim, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near Highway 99. They found the victim who ended up hurt as a result of the collision
Medical personnel took the patient to the Kaiser Permanente for treatment of unspecified injuries. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to help and then fled the area. Officers forced the corner of Martin Luther and 47th Avenue to shut down following the collision.
The cause of the Sacramento hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
