Salvador Alvarez Vargas & Wayne Eugene Stedman Fatal Victims in Car Accident Near Q Street
Bakersfield, CA (April 26, 2020) – Two men, Salvador Alvarez Vargas and Wayne Eugene Stedman, died following a car crash on Golden State Highway on April 24, Saturday.
The KGET News reported 72-year-old Wayne Stedman was behind the wheel of a vehicle traveling west on Golden State Avenue. For reasons still unclear, the driver allowed the car to drift towards the the middle of the highway.
Officials said the vehicle, with two occupants, ended up smashing into the pillar at a high rate of speed. The force from the impact resulted in severe damage to the automobile.
Double Fatal Car Crash in Bakersfield, April 24
Shortly after 6:15 p.m., emergency teams arrived at the crash site, near Q Street in Bakersfield. Paramedics rendered aid to both Wayne Stedman and his passenger but they sadly succumbed to their injuries and died. Authorities later identified the deceased passenger as 49-year-old Salvador Vargas.
Authorities mentioned Wayne Stedman and Salvador Vargas were both Bakersfield residents.
The precise cause of the unfortunate event remained under investigation.
