Pedestrian Salvadore Aguirre, 43, Seriously Injured in Watsonville Crash on Highway 129

WATSONVILLE, CA (November 4, 2022) – Pedestrian Salvadore Aguirre was seriously injured after a crash on Highway 129 in Watsonville.

The California Highway Patrol identified the 43-year-old Watsonville man as the victim of the accident which took place last week on Friday.

The incident happened when a 2016 New Flyer Xcelsior Bus struck Salvadore Aguirre for an unknown reason in Watsonville. The vehicle hit him in a westbound lane of Highway 129, west of Harvest Drive.

The Mercury News and KRON 4 News wrote that the collision occurred on October 28 at about 9:48 p.m. Salvadore Aguirre sustained major injuries as a result of the pedestrian accident.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and rushed him to a hospital for treatment. The reports did not disclose his condition at this time.

Meanwhile, police added that the driver of the bus stopped following the collision. The motorist, 44-year-old Santa Cruz resident Terry Johnson, cooperated with the officers.

Police forced the westbound side of the highway to shut down after the incident. The cause of the Watsonville pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
