Woman, 50, Killed in San Andreas Head-On Crash on Highway 49
SAN ANDREAS, CA (June 5, 2021) – A woman was killed after a car crash on Highway 49 in the San Andreas area.
According to an article published by My Mother Lode, the tragic accident took place on Saturday morning. Officers reported the wreck at around 7:30 a.m.
The incident happened when a Dodge Ram crossed over the double-yellow lines of Highway 49 in San Andreas for an unknown reason.
Car Collision Near O Connell Lane and Cement Road
The California Highway Patrol said the pickup truck then slammed head-on into a Nissan Altima. The two crashed between O Connell Lane and Cement Road.
The Dodge Ram rolled over upon impact while the Nissan sedan ended up with major front-end damage. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene.
They confirmed that a 50-year-old woman died as a result of the collision. Her name remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, officials forced a portion of Highway 49 to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the fatal San Andreas crash is still under investigation.
