1 Killed in San Bernardino Hit-and-Run on 10 Freeway Near Tippecanoe
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (November 6, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash killed at least one person on the 10 Freeway near Tippecanoe Avenue in San Bernardino.
The California Highway Patrol said the tragic accident took place early Saturday. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 1:41 a.m.
The incident happened when a vehicle struck a motorcycle rider for an unknown reason. The two crashed on the westbound 10 Freeway, just east of Tippecanoe Avenue, in San Bernardino.
Driver Hits Motorcycle Rider, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics then arrived at the scene. They found the motorcyclist left lying on the ground as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the other driver did not stop to help the rider and fled the area. They described the car as a Ford or Dodge pickup truck.
Officers forced the westbound lanes of the 10 Freeway to shut down near Tippecanoe following the wreck. The cause of the fatal San Bernardino hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
