Man Injured in San Bernardino Hit-and-Run Crash on 210 Freeway at Waterman

SAN BERNARDINO, CA (June 17, 2021) – One was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash on the 210 Freeway in San Bernardino.

According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Thursday evening. Officers reported the wreck at about 7:25 p.m.

The incident happened when a man was outside a vehicle and changing its tire on the westbound side of the 210 Freeway in San Bernardino.

CHP said a maroon Honda Accord approached and struck him and his car at the Waterman Avenue off-ramp. Witnesses claimed that the driver of the Honda initially stopped after hitting the victim.

Driver Hits Victim, Flees Scene

The motorist then sped away and continued westbound on the 210 Freeway, just west of Highland Avenue. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene.

They found the man who complained of pain as a result of the collision. Medical personnel took him to the Loma Linda University Health – Murrieta for treatment of minor injuries.

Officials did not release the name of the wounded patient and his condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP officers are still searching for the suspect.

The San Bernardino hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
