Bicycle Rider, 75, Seriously Injured in San Diego Crash on Cushing Road
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 17, 2021) – A bicycle rider was seriously injured after a crash on Cushing Road near the Liberty Station in San Diego.
The San Diego Union-Tribune and FOX 40 News wrote that the accident took place on Wednesday afternoon. Officers reported the collision at about 3 p.m.
The incident began when a 75-year-old man was riding a bicycle on Cushing Road in San Diego. For an unknown reason, a Ford Escape SUV traveling the same direction struck him from behind.
The two crashed near the Liberty Station NTC Park and Lot K. The rider ended up ejected from his bike due to the impact of the collision.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene between Farragut Road and Womble Road. They found the victim who sustained major injuries as a result of the crash.
Medical personnel rushed him to a hospital for treatment of a broken left clavicle and several broken ribs on his left side. The report did not release his name and condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the 43-year-old man driving the car stopped after hitting the cyclist. He stayed at the site and cooperated with the officials.
Officers forced a stretch of Cushing Road to shut down following the bicycle incident. The cause of the San Diego crash is still under investigation.
