Major Injury Collision on Cabrillo Freeway Sunday
San Diego, CA (September 12, 2021) – At least one person suffered serious injuries following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of State Route 163 and Interstate 15.
A collision between a semi truck and a passenger vehicle took place early Sunday in the northbound side of SR-163, also known as Cabrillo Freeway. For an unknown reason, the Audi A4 slammed into the back of the big rig. The crash took place near the transition road onto I-5, also known as Escondido Freeway.

Shortly after 3:40 a.m., medical personnel arrived at the location. Paramedics rendered aid to all possible victims in the wreck. After the evaluation, officials confirmed at least one person suffered major injuries as a result of the crash.
Several factors surrounding the incident remained unclear. At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the car and truck accident on State Route 163 in San Diego.
