1 Seriously Injured in San Diego Crash on Interstate 15 Near Carroll Canyon
SAN DIEGO, CA (January 19, 2022) – A DUI crash seriously injured at least one person on the Interstate 15 near Carroll Canyon Road in San Diego.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident took place on Wednesday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 4:23 a.m.
According to CHP, two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in San Diego. They crashed on the northbound Interstate 15 near Carroll Canyon Road
2 Vehicles Collide
The incident log added that a car rolled onto its side while the other ended up on an embankment upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Medical personnel found one person who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. They then took the patient to a hospital for treatment.
The report did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP determined that a driver involved was under the influence when the wreck happened.
Officers forced the northbound lanes of the Interstate 15 to shut down near Carroll Canyon following the wreck. The San Diego crash is still under investigation.
