2-Vehicle Collision Near Carmel Valley Road
San Diego, CA (August 20, 2022) – At least one person suffered injuries following a suspected DUI crash that occurred on the Interstate 5 Freeway.
The FOX5 and NBC7 News reported Snell was behind the wheel of a car traveling north on I-5 Thursday evening. In the area just north of Carmel Valley Road, police conducted a traffic stop on Snell. During the stop, a grey Toyota sedan crashed into the left side of the car of Snell.
Shortly after 10:56 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics checked the conditions of all parties involved in the wreck. After the evaluation, officers confirmed the passenger riding in the car of Snell sustained injuries as a result of the collision. The name of the victim, and their condition at this time have not been revealed thus far.
DUI Suspect Arrested in San Diego Crash on Interstate 5
Investigators mentioned the 39-year-old man driving the Toyota showed signs of intoxication. Given that, police arrested the suspect on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Detectives continue to gather several information surrounding the DUI crash that happened on Interstate 5 near Carmel Valley Road.
