Injury Car Accident on Ocean Beach Freeway at Sunset Cliffs Boulevard Saturday
San Diego, CA (August 23, 2021) – At least one person suffered injuries following a suspected hit-and-run crash on Interstate 8, also known as Ocean Beach Freeway.
On August 21, Saturday, two vehicles collided in the westbound side of the freeway. The accident took place near the Sunset Cliffs Boulevard offramp.
The California Highway Patrol group reported a Toyota Camry started emitting smoke following the collision. Flames eventually engulfed the car.
Shortly after 11:56 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the accident scene. Responding firefighters worked extensively to put out the fire and extricate possible victims.
Our sources later confirmed at least one person sustained injuries as a result of the wreck. The name of the victim, and the extent of their trauma have not been revealed thus far.

Meanwhile, the CHP dispatch mentioned one motorist fled the scene before police arrived. Detectives continue to work at this time to identify and locate the suspect.
