Vehicle Strikes, Injured Pedestrian Near Clairemont Mesa Boulevard Friday
San Diego, CA (February 12, 2022) – A pedestrian suffered injuries following a suspected hit-and-run collision that occurred on Interstate 805, also known as Jacob Dekema Freeway.
The California Highway Patrol group reported a vehicle struck an individual in the southbound side of the freeway in San Diego. Our sources indicated the crash took place in the area near Clairemont Mesa Boulevard.
Preliminary investigation revealed the motorist involved in the accident attempted to swerve. However, the car still hit the pedestrian and continued driving to the direction of the center divider. Officials said blue Honda Accord came to a rest after slamming into the barrier.
Shortly after 8 a.m., emergency crews arrived at the location. First responders found the pedestrian with injuries. At this time, the name and condition of the victim remained undisclosed pending confirmation.

The CHP mentioned one motorist involved in the mishap fled the scene. No immediate information was available on the hit-and-run suspect.
