Pedestrian Badly Injured in San Diego Uber Crash on Market Street
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 9, 2022) – A pedestrian was badly injured after a crash involving an Uber on Market Street in San Diego.
According to an article published by the FOX 5 News, the accident took place on Thursday night. Officers reported the collision on April 7 at about 9:10 p.m.
The incident began when an Uber stopped in the westbound No. 2 lane at 500 Market Street in the Gaslamp District of San Diego. The driver made the stop in front of a Chevrolet Suburban parked on the north curb.
Woman Hit by Car
A woman then exited the Uber from the right rear door, at the same time, the SUV pulled out from the curb. In the process, the Chevrolet struck her.
Police said the pedestrian sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident. Paramedics rushed her to an area hospital for treatment of a leg fracture.
The report did not disclose the name of the wounded victim and her condition at this time. Meanwhile, police forced a stretch of Market Street to shut down following the collision.
The cause of the San Diego Uber crash is still under investigation.
