Pedestrian Injured in San Diego Zoo Accident on Park Boulevard

SAN DIEGO, CA (March 29, 2021) – A pedestrian was hospitalized after an accident along Park Boulevard near the San Diego Zoo.

According to an article published by the San Diego Union-Tribune, the incident occurred on Monday morning. Officers reported the crash at about 8:48 a.m. near Balboa Park.

The incident happened when a gray sedan was making a turn onto northbound Park Boulevard near the San Diego Zoo. In the process, the driver struck a male pedestrian.

Man Hit by Car Near Balboa Park

Police said the impact pushed the man in his early 20s onto the hood of the car. His head then hit the front windshield of the vehicle.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene on Park Boulevard near Zoo Place. They found the pedestrian suffering from minor injuries as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel took the patient to a local hospital for treatment. Officials did not release his name and condition at this time.

Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist involved stopped after hitting the man and stayed at the crash site. Authorities are still determining the cause of the collision.
