San Francisco Cable Car Crash at Washington and Hyde Streets

2 Injured in San Francisco Cable Car Crash at Washington and Hyde

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (February 5, 2023) – A cable car crash injured two people at Washington and Hyde streets in San Francisco.

According to the CBS San Francisco and NBC Bay Area, the accident took place on Wednesday evening. Officers reported the wreck on February 1 at around 5:45 p.m.

The incident happened when a cable car derailed for an unknown reason in the Nob Hill neighborhood of San Francisco. Police said it crashed in the area of Hyde and Washington streets. 

Muni Operators Involved in Collision

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found two Muni operators on board who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel then provided treatment to the patients for the minor injuries they sustained in the accident. The names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time were not disclosed.

Meanwhile, police forced the area of Hyde and Washington streets to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the San Francisco cable car crash is still under investigation.
