Man Killed in San Francisco Hit-and-Run on Highway 101 Near Cesar Chavez
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (September 14, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after a hit-and-run crash on Highway 101 near Cesar Chavez Street in San Francisco.
According to an article published by the CBS San Francisco, the tragic accident took place early Saturday. Officers reported the collision shortly after after 1 a.m.
A vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason. The California Highway Patrol said the driver hit the man on southbound Highway 101 in the city of San Francisco.
The incident happened on September 11, just south of the Cesar Chavez Street on-ramp.
Pedestrian Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found the victim left lying on the shoulder. He sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the pedestrian, described as a transient, dead at the scene. His name remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the man and then fled the area. The fatal San Francisco hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
