1 Seriously Injured in San Jacinto DUI Crash on State Street Near Community College
SAN JACINTO, CA (March 7, 2022) – At least one was seriously injured after a DUI head-on crash on State Street in San Jacinto.
According to an article published by the Riverside County News Source, the accident took place late Sunday night. Officers reported the wreck shortly before midnight.
The incident happened on March 6 when a dark gray Honda Civic coupe was going south on North State Street in San Jacinto. At the same time, a red Toyota Prius hatchback was traveling north.
The Honda then spun out of control and careened across the road. The car jumped the center median and slammed head-on into the Toyota, south of West Community College Way.
2 Cars Collide
Both cars obtained major front-end damage upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and extricated the male driver of the Prius from the wreckage.
He sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel rushed him to the Riverside University Health System in Moreno Valley for treatment.
Meanwhile, the woman driving the Toyota ended up hospitalized with minor injuries. Deputies determined that she was under the influence of alcohol when she hit the other car.
They soon arrested the motorist for DUI and providing false information to a peace officer. Officers forced a stretch of State Street to shut down following the DUI crash.
The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. The San Jacinto wreck is still under investigation.
