San Jose crash Highway 87 Capitol
1 Injured in San Jose Car Crash on Highway 87 Near Capitol Expressway
SAN JOSE, CA (September 22, 2021) – One was hospitalized after a car crash on Highway 87 near Capitol Expressway in San Jose.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 3:16 p.m.
The incident began when the driver of a white Acura sedan was traveling at about 100 mph on northbound Highway 87 in San Jose.
Speeding Driver Hits Another Car
CHP said the Acura then slammed into a black BMW SUV, just north of Capitol Expressway. The BMW obtained rear-end damage and the Acura came to a rest with front-end damage.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found one person who complained of pain as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the northbound lanes of Highway 87 near Capitol to shut down following the wreck. The San Jose car crash is still under investigation.
