Bicyclist Killed in San Jose Hit-and-Run Near Queens and Old Bayshore
SAN JOSE, CA (January 5, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash killed a bicyclist at Queens Lane and Old Bayshore Highway in San Jose.
According to the East Bay Times and KTVU News, the tragic accident took place on Wednesday evening. Officers reported the collision at about 6:15 p.m.
Police said a vehicle struck the bicycle rider for an unknown reason. The driver hit the victim near the intersection of Queens Lane and Old Bayshore Highway in San Jose.
Driver Hits Victim, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then found the cyclist left lying on the ground. The patient sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon rushed the bicyclist to a hospital, where they died. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid and fled the area. Officers forced the corner of Queens and Old Bayshore to shut down following the collision.
The cause of fatal San Jose hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
