Pedestrian Killed in San Jose Hit-and-Run Crash on Kooser Road
SAN JOSE, CA (May 4, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after a hit-and-run crash on Kooser Road in San Jose.
According to The Mercury News and NBC Bay Area, the tragic accident occurred late Tuesday night. Officers reported the incident shortly before 10 p.m.
Police said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver hit the person in the 1500 block of Kooser Road in San Jose.
Driver Hits Victim, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene near Blossom Hill Road and Camden Avenue. They found the victim left lying on the ground as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel confirmed that the pedestrian died. The name of the deceased individual remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid and then fled the area. Authorities are still searching for the suspect.
Officials soon forced Kooser Road to shut down in both directions between Camden Avenue and Ardmore Way following the crash. The fatal San Jose hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
