1 Killed in San Jose Crash on Highway 101 and Brokaw Road
SAN JOSE, CA (January 14, 2023) – A crash killed at least one person on Highway 101 and Brokaw Road in San Jose.
The California Highway Patrol said the tragic accident took place early Saturday, January 14. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 1 a.m.
The incident happened when two cars collided for an unknown reason in the city of San Jose. The vehicles crashed on northbound Highway 101 at the Brokaw Road on-ramp.
Tesla and Car Collide
CHP described the cars as a white Tesla SUV and a white Ford sedan. Both sustained moderate front-end damage while the Ford plunged down an embankment due to the impact of the collision.
Firefighters along with the paramedics then arrived at the scene. Medical personnel confirmed that one individual died as a result of the incident.
The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, the cause of the fatal San Jose crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the northbound Highway 101 to shut down for three hours at the Brokaw on-ramp following the wreck.
