1 Injured in San Jose Hit-and-Run Crash on South Bascom Avenue

SAN JOSE, CA (February 7, 2022) – At least one was injured after a hit-and-run crash on Bascom Avenue in San Jose.

According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place late Monday night. Officers reported the wreck at around 7:14 p.m.

CHP said two vehicles collided for an unknown reason. They crashed at 439 South Bascom Avenue between Scott Street and Elliott Street in the city of San Jose.

2 Cars Collide

The incident log described the cars as a maroon Acura and a silver Toyota Solara. One of them then plowed into a building nearby.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Interstate 280. They found one person who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel then provided aid to the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the wreck. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded victim and their condition at this time.

Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that a driver involved did not stop to help and fled the area. Officers forced a stretch of Bascom Avenue to shut down following the wreck.

The cause of the San Jose hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
