Motorcycle Rider Injured in San Jose Crash on Highway 87 Near Capitol Expressway
SAN JOSE, CA (October 6, 2021) – A motorcycle rider was hospitalized after a crash on Highway 87 near Capitol Expressway in San Jose.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place on Wednesday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 8:55 a.m.
According to their dispatch, the motorcycle rider and a blue Pontiac Grand Prix collided. The two crashed for an unknown reason on northbound Highway 87 in San Jose.
Motorcyclist and Car Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene, just south of Capitol Expressway. They found the motorcyclist hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the victim to the Kaiser Permanente San Jose for treatment of minor injuries. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the Pontiac sustained injury or if they stopped following the incident. The cause of the San Jose crash still under investigation.
Officers forced the northbound Highway 87 to shut down near Capitol after the wreck.
