Motorcyclist Injured in San Jose Hit-and-Run Crash on Interstate 680 Near Capitol

SAN JOSE, CA (October 8, 2021) – A motorcyclist was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash on the Interstate 680 near Capitol Expressway in San Jose.

According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Friday evening. Officers reported the wreck at about 6:43 p.m.

CHP said a sedan struck the rider of a black motorcycle on the southbound side of the Interstate 680 in San Jose. The two crashed just north of Capitol Expressway.

Motorcycle Rider Hit by Car

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the motorcyclist left wounded in the center divider as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel then took the victim to the Regional Medical Center for treatment of road rash. Officials did not disclose the name of the patient and their condition at this time.

Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver of the car did not stop to help the rider and fled on foot. The San Jose hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.

Officers forced the southbound lanes of the the Interstate 680 to shut down near Capitol Expressway following the wreck.
