
4 Injured in San Luis Obispo on Higuera Street Near Bridge
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (May 8, 2023) – Several were injured after a DUI crash on South Higuera Street in San Luis Obispo.
According to an article published by the KSBY News, the accident took place on Monday evening. Officers reported the wreck on May 8 at about 7:03 p.m.
The incident happened when a black BMW was going north on South Higuera Street near the San Luis Obispo creek bridge. At the same time, a turquoise Chevy Equinox was traveling southbound.
2 Cars Collide
The California Highway Patrol said the BMW then crossed over the center line and slammed into the Chevy head-on. The impact pushed the Equinox onto the bridge railing.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found a total of four people who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed all four patients to area hospitals for treatment of unspecified injuries. The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP believed that alcohol played a role in the accident. Officers forced a stretch of Higuera Street to shut down for hours following the wreck.
The cause of the San Luis Obispo crash is still under investigation.
