Driver Killed in New Year’s Eve Fiery Collision Near San Lusito Creek Road
San Luis Obispo, CA (January 1, 2022) – One person died following a traffic accident that occurred on Highway 1 on December 31, the KSBY News reported.
Our sources indicated two vehicles collided on the highway in San Luis Obispo. Preliminary investigation revealed a Chevrolet pickup made a sudden turning movement; and drove into the path of a northbound Hyundai Sonata.
Due to the force from the impact, the Chevrolet pickup immediately caught fire. Responding firefighters worked extensively to put out the flames.
Deadly Car Accident on Highway 1 in San Luis Obispo, December 31
Sadly, the driver of the Chevrolet pickup sustained fatal injuries from the collision. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Authorities identified the driver of the Hyundai Sonata as Gerardo Aldama of Santa Maria. According to the article published online, Aldama appeared unharmed after the incident.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate several factors surrounding the fatal car crash on Highway 1 in San Luis Obispo.
