Pedestrian Seriously Injured in San Martin Crash on Highway 101 Near Truck Scales
SAN MARTIN, CA (January 28, 2022) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a crash on Highway 101 near the truck scales in San Martin.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place early Friday. Officers reported the collision shortly before 3 a.m.
CHP said a truck hit the pedestrian for an unknown reason in San Martin. The vehicle struck the person in a parking lot on Highway 101 near the truck scales.
Victim Hit by Truck
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the victim who ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the person. They forced a stretch of Highway 101 to shut down near the truck scales following the incident.
The cause of the San Martin pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
