1 Seriously Injured in San Mateo Crash on Highway 101 Near Dore Avenue
SAN MATEO, CA (February 13, 2022) – At least one was seriously injured after a car crash on Highway 101 near Dore Avenue in San Mateo.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Sunday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 5:39 a.m.
CHP said six vehicles collided for an unknown reason in San Mateo. They crashed on the northbound side of Highway 101, just south of Dore Avenue.
The incident log described the cars as a Volvo SUV, a Chevrolet Equinox, a gray Mazda CX5, a white Mercedes and a blue Jeep. Both the Chevrolet and the Mercedes obtained moderate front-end damage.
Multiple Cars Collide
The Volvo ended up with moderate side damage while the Mazda sustained major front-end damage and a broken left rear tire. The Jeep came to a rest with major front-end and rear end damage.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene. They found one person who suffered major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon took the patient to a hospital for treatment. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the northbound lanes of Highway 101 to shut down near Dore for one and a half hours following the wreck. The cause of the San Mateo crash is still under investigation.
