1 Seriously Injured in San Mateo Crash on Highway 101 at Poplar Avenue
SAN MATEO, CA (November 3, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a car crash on Highway 101 and Poplar Avenue in San Mateo.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the incident on Tuesday afternoon. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 4: 53 p.m.
The accident happened on November 2 when a flatbed tow truck hauling a Chevrolet Equinox and a red Honda Civic collided with two other cars.
The vehicles crashed for an unknown reason on southbound Highway 101 at the Poplar Avenue off-ramp in San Mateo.
Tow Truck, Cars Collide
CHP described the other two cars as two Honda Civic sedans, gray and white in color. Both obtained major front damage upon impact.
The report log added that the tow truck ended up with major front and right side damage. The red Honda towed at the time rolled over in the process.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They confirmed that one person sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the southbound Highway 101 to shut down at Poplar following the wreck. The cause of the San Mateo crash is still under investigation.
